Tibet

A good friend just called and said how she had been watching a PBS docu on Tibet. I missed it, of course because I have not cable but it sounds like it was a good straight-ahead piece on the miseries of the Tibetan people dished out by the demonic Chinese government.
Tibet and China have over the centuries squabbled over the relation between them; China claiming that Tibet has always been a part of China, but not so...
The Tibetans have their own separate culture, ethnicity, language and religion.
So, what has been happening to Tibet since the Chinese invaded Tibet in 1950? Well, the Chinese government has sent many many Chinese to Tibet to, first of all, destroy even the idea of Tibet; to destroy the culture, language and even the Tibetans themselves as an ethnicity, as a separate people. Of course, the Chinese proclaim that the glorious Revolution has liberated the poor downtrodden and religion-oppressed Tibetan peasant. After all, just look at the happy Tibetans!! Why, they are so happy that they are prohibited from even mentioning the Dalai Lama, or even displaying his image in their own, private homes. Happy happy!! You get it?

So, why are people around the world so incensed at the plight of the Tibetan people? Because, in my opinion, this is such an obvious injustice and blatant use of government power to corrupt another people; such an obvious land-grab, for the Chinese have been very envious of the great natural resource that is the virgin land of the Tibetan people. Well, we shall see who triumphs in Tibet: the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan people or the mindless power hungry non-human, dog-eating Chinese leadership!
